1. Intended Use and Community Spirit
The Website is provided to share our church beliefs, broadcast sermons, coordinate ministry volunteering, and facilitate community communication. Users agree to utilize the platform, its contact forms, and any interactive features in a manner consistent with a peaceful, respectful, and faith-based community environment.
2. Media, Sermon Streams, and Intellectual Property
This Agreement does not transfer to you any intellectual property owned by the Church or third parties. All rights, titles, and interests in the website design, text, original photography, pastoral articles, and recorded audio/video sermon media remain solely with Kingston Standard Church or its licensors.
Permitted Use: You are permitted to stream sermon media, view church bulletins, and download ministry resources strictly for your personal, spiritual, or non-commercial educational use.
Prohibited Replication: Re-uploading, editing, selling, or broadcasting church media, music recordings, or pastoral video streams onto external commercial platforms without our express written consent is strictly prohibited.
3. Charitable Donations, Tithes, and Offerings
All financial contributions, tithes, or special ministry offerings processed through the Website are voluntary charitable gifts. Because these funds are immediately allocated toward church operations, local outreach, and global ministries, and are tracked for the purpose of issuing official Canadian charitable tax receipts, online donations are generally non-refundable. Any technical billing errors or accidental duplicate transactions must be reported to the church administration office immediately for manual verification.
4. Prohibited Uses of the Platform
In addition to other terms as set forth in the Agreement, you are prohibited from using the Website or its Content:
(a) for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose;
(b) to solicit others to perform or participate in any unlawful acts;
(c) to harvest, scrape, or gather congregation email addresses, leader contacts, or phone numbers from our directory fields for the distribution of commercial spam, advertising, or solicitation;
(d) to transmit automated bots, viruses, or malicious tracking scripts;
(e) to use our contact fields or message spaces to post defamatory, abusive, harassing, obscene, or intentionally malicious text.
We reserve the right to block or terminate your access to our digital services immediately for violating any of these parameters.
5. Third-Party Resources and Links
Our Website may link to external resources, such as regional denominational offices, community charities, or third-party media platforms (e.g., YouTube or Vimeo for sermon archiving). We do not assume any responsibility or liability for the actions, privacy practices, or content of those independent third parties. Linking to off-site resources is entirely at your own risk.
6. Disclaimer of Warranty
You agree that your use of our digital platform is strictly at your own risk. The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We make no warranty that our website will be entirely uninterrupted, error-free, or that minor typographical inaccuracies in scheduling will be corrected immediately.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will Kingston Standard Church, its pastoral staff, board of trustees, directors, or ministry volunteers be liable to any person for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of this informational website. To the maximum extent permitted by Ontario law, our aggregate digital liability will be limited strictly to an amount not exceeding ten Canadian dollars ($10.00 CAD).
8. Severability and Dispute Resolution
If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable by an Ontario court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. Any administrative or structural disputes arising out of your use of this website shall be governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflicts of law.
9. Changes and Amendments
We reserve the right to modify this Agreement or its terms related to the Website at any time at our discretion. When updates occur, we will modify the timestamp at the top of this document. Your continued use of the Website after that date implies structural consent to the revised terms.
